Children's wish upon stars in Tanabata festival

 

Tanabata七夕 matsuri祭（festival） held in July 7 has a romantic story based on the legend spread in the East Asia including China and Japan.

Once a year Kengyu(Altair) and Orihime(Vega), industrious lovers of stars, can meet across the Milky Way.  

Towards the Tanabata night, children write their wish on Tanzaku短冊(strip paper) and tie them to bamboo grass.

 

In many places of Japan Tanabata decoration is displayed.
